YOU!

Let's get social

Reggie & Elizabeth, Fort Leavenworth Kansas Wedding, March 17th 2012

April 4, 2012

Congratulations to Reggie & Elizabeth!  Your wedding was special in so many ways.  This is just a bitty sneak peak for you both.  Your slideshow and gallery will be ready soon, so just a touch more of patience will be needed.

Reggie and Liz are very family and God centered people.  Everything about their wedding day was very real and meaningful.  They got ready in their home,  were married in Fort Leavenworth’s Memorial Chapel (where they both spent much time with their military background), and celebrated afterwards with a backyard BBQ party.  The day was gorgeous and it is amazing that the trees were in bloom for their March 17th (Saint Patrick’s Day!) wedding.

Along with Catholic & military traditions, Reggie and Liz also incorporated Filipino wedding traditions of  arras coins, candle, veil, and cord.  The symbolism of these traditions are beautiful.  The trickling of the coins demonstrates the couple’s agreement to share worldly possessions, the veil symbolizes the unity of the two families as well as a prayer for health and protection, and the cord shows the infinite bond of marriage.  At Memorial Chapel, they have a tradition of signing a pillow.  In the past, couples have knelt on this during the ceremony, however now they have it on display.

This image was photographed during their moment where they saw each other for the first time on their wedding day.  I particularly loved theirs because they let all their friends and family watch.

And here’s the kiss…

The bouquet toss and garter throw happened on their way out of the church, which I loved!

And then there are the portraits, which took place on the ground of Fort Leavenworth.  So beautiful…

Really, need I say more?  How beautiful are they?  And those trees!
