Tori & Paul tie the Knot: A Kansas City Wedding

October 16, 2014

So many congratulations to Victoria and Paul.  They are such a loving and joyful couple with great family & friends to support them and I expect a lifetime of happiness for them.

Throughout the day, there were so many demonstrations of the strong relationships they hold with family.  In the getting ready room after Tori’s mom helped her with her wedding dress, Tori gave her a special handmade gift. The way Tori looked at her mother made me choke up a touch with emotion.  And then there was the father-daughter relationship that was present through the entire day.  Tori’s father was the Deacon for the wedding ceremony at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Overland Park and the officiant a good family friend.  So, you can imagine the meaningful words of wisdom that were spoken during the service.   After the first kiss as a married couple, on the trek down the isle, Paul got a high five from his dad that I have no doubt will be a great memory.

After the wedding ceremony, we went to Loose Park for some fun bridal party photographs.  I love the way the red bridesmaids dresses pop against the green trees in the park.  They were a fun group to work with.  And then they headed to Longbranch Steak House in Lenexa where they hang out often before getting into the crazy bus to head to the reception at  Abdallah Shrine.  They did the first dance right after the grand entrance.  Following were the mother-son dance and the father-daughter dance, both of which showcased the strong family ties.  They had a lot of help from their friends too.  The hair and makeup were done by friends.  The bridal party did  a great job decorating it and the cake was beautiful, also done by a friend.  Really, it was a wonderful wedding day.
