Here is a Kansas City Senior Session that will go down in time as one of my personal favorites. Before we started our proofing session, I warned Anna that each and every photo could be in a magazine spread. And that she would have a hard time narrowing down her favorites. I did not lie about either statement. On thinking about this senior session, I think it turned out so amazing for a few reasons.
The biggest and most accurate reason is that Anna is such an amazing lady. Her personality really shines in this set of photographs. To customize her session, we ended up with two themes and she nailed both: There are images where she is sweet, sassy, giggling, and fierce.
The first was warm, comfy, and pretty & set in nature. We took full advantage of the wildflowers, bridge, creek, and tall grass at Shawnee Mission Park. The second theme was to show her strength and theater flair (and to wear her amazing homecoming outfit!) with a bit of a dark and moody vibe. We went deeper into the woods and used some lighting to achieve this.
The next reason these images rock is because she found outfits that were totally her, flattering, and fit the settings perfectly. She also had her makeup done (props to their amazing Mary Kay consultant, Kendri!). I can’t even tell you what a difference both of those makes.
I love how senior sessions are customized to truly show off individual style, vision, and personality. For example, Anna’s older brother Quinn had his senior session 2 years ago. For him, we built his vision around his sneakers and with the goal to get senior photographs that could be worthy of an album cover.
